Next generation of blood analysis

AcCellerator Ruby: Automated Whole Blood Analysis Platform

From Flexibility to Ease of Use

Our AcCellerator  platform has proven its versatility in biological cell analysis across countless research applications. Our AcCellerator Ruby  reduces the platform complexity to address one particular application: blood cell analysis. Ruby  is designed to deliver highly reproducible results for automated whole  blood measurements and analysis. All you need is a drop of blood.

Streamlined Blood Cell Analysis

Ruby   focuses exclusively on what matters most: rapid, reliable identification and characterization of blood cell populations through morphological assessment.

Key Parameters Measured:

  • Cell deformability by cell type (Lymphocytes, Neutrophiles, Monocytes, Erythrocytes)

  • Optical properties (brightness and granularity)

  • Cell size

  • Additional morphological characteristics including all cell image data

Engineered for Simplicity, Built for Precision

The measurement protocol has been streamlined to essential steps: pipette one drop of blood and measurement buffer into a single-use chip, insert the chip, and initiate analysis. Ruby  handles the rest.

Technical Specifications:

  • Sample Processing: Single-use microfluidic chips

  • Analysis Throughput: ~20,000 RBCs and ~2,000 WBCs per measurement

  • Measurement Duration: Approximately 15 minutes

  • Data Output: Full raw data set of all detected blood cell events and summary of population averages for each cell type

  • Quality Assurance: Daily calibration protocols and data quality controls ensure measurement reliability and trust in the data

  • Documentation: Individual cell imaging for artifact detection and validation

Unique Capabilities

Ruby   addresses a critical gap in hematological analysis by combining real-time mechanical property assessment with automated cell identification—a combination unavailable in existing blood analysis platforms. The integrated imaging system provides visual confirmation of each measured cell, eliminating uncertainty about measurement artifacts and ensuring data integrity.

Focus on Research, Not Operation

By automating technical complexity while maintaining measurement precision, Ruby   enables researchers to concentrate on their scientific questions rather than instrument operation. The platform  offers a straightforward measurement routine, without compromising the quality or depth of data acquisition.

Ruby Demonstration Video

Watch our Ruby software in action – where simplicity meets precision. This screen recording demonstrates the complete workflow: simply enter a sample name, press start, and let Ruby handle the rest.

The system automatically fills the chip, positions the region of interest, and achieves perfect focus on the cells. Using just 20 µl of whole blood in CellCarrier B measurement buffer, Ruby delivers comprehensive analysis with remarkable efficiency.

First, red blood cells (RBCs) are identified and analyzed – within seconds, 20,000 RBCs are completely processed. Next, the system searches for white blood cells (WBCs), which naturally occur at a 1:1000 ratio. After 10 minutes, about 2,000 WBCs are found and measured with precision.

Throughout the measurement process, continuous monitoring parameters ensure consistent quality control. Immediately upon completion, the most important WBC subpopulations are identified and  analyzed.
